YA SCAVENGER HUNT 2017

Hello to all you lovely readers! My name is Keira Gillett, and I write upper middle grade, young adult books. If you love fantasy books that take you all over Norway on quests for trolls, feature an adopted, magic-wielding princess, and strong friendships that withstand the snapping jaws of dragons, then I have a book series for you! Each story features 16 gorgeous illustrations by the talented Eoghan Kerrigan. The Zaria Fierce Trilogy has been compared to Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Chronicles of Narnia, and even a kid’s version of the Lord of the Rings.

On her birthday, Zaria Fierce finds her usual path to school blocked by an ugly river-troll. At first she’s surprised and curious, but then Olaf threatens to eat her, which is an act Zaria could not in good conscience consent to, so Zaria counteroffers. A deal is struck and she goes to school, but Zaria is about to learn the hard way that one does not trick a river-troll and expect to win.

In June, the Alliance of Young Adult Authors is sponsoring a massive young adult scavenger hunt. This is a chance to meet some new authors, grab a bunch of free books, and sign up to win a whole bunch of epic prizes! In addition to the $500 grand prize, each of the authors will be offering free books and other prizes.

 RULES

Each author will be given a special keyword, which will be bolded and all caps like this: BUTTERFLIES.

All you have to do is visit all the author’s sites in this order, write down the special keywords to discover the short story, then enter the giveaway with the completed secret legend here:

There will be one main giveaway for the main prize, but most of the participating authors will also have smaller giveaways for free books, amazon credit and author swag, so make sure you read their post carefully to see what else they’re offering while you’re on their site for the keyword.

Just go through the “treasure map” below to find the keywords and reconstruct the secret legend. Once you’ve got it, enter for the grand prize HERE. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for other giveaways or free books as you search for the keywords, most authors will be offering their own prizes as well.
