Danissa also got a chance to review the second Zaria Fierce book. Here’s some of the awesome things she said about it:
This is one of the most amazing second book in a trilogy that I’ve read. I love how fast-paced the book is and how it has no flat lines/ boring parts. I like how empowering the book is, especially on facing your own demons. Just like Zaria.
You know what is really exciting? Learning that your book has inspired someone to create fan art!
Michele Carpenter drew these lovely coloring pages based on the first two books in the Zaria Fierce Trilogy and they’re totally fabulous. You don’t have to be young to color them (adult coloring is all the rage!)

I would love to see your coloring so be sure to e-mail me if you print these out and color them in. My e-mail is [email protected]
I was doodling while on the phone and this is what came out. It’s theoretically Zaria, although it didn’t start there. I started with practicing drawing braids, which I’ve never really done before successfully. My favorite part is her boots. I just love the cutaway on the one, which shows off her socks.
I was interviewed by Jackie Pantello about my book, Zaria Fierce and the Secret of Gloomwood Forest on Brevard Notes, a local television show last week. Below is a video of the interview. I hope you enjoy!
I bet you’re a lot like me when you read a book or book series. You develop a mental picture of the character and sometimes cast famous people to play the role of your favorite characters. It’s fun to do and it’s fun to compare notes… especially against the author of the book or if the book is ever picked up to be produced as a motion picture. I’m sharing my vision of the Fierce family with Zaria, Merry, and Colonel. Let me know what you think!
She’s the perfect blend of cute and sassy.
She’s warm, friendly, and happy.
He’s handsome, strong, and wonderful.
How do you visualize the characters? Who would you cast for the role of Zaria, Merry, and Colonel Fierce?
